HSPRD’s Commitment to Sustainability
Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. is committed to serving our clients in ways that minimize our impact on the environment. We established a committee tasked with enhancing and managing the firm's sustainability initiatives. The firm’s environmental policies are aimed at reducing consumption of energy and non-renewable natural resources and on striving to achieve best practices for energy and natural resource conservation. Efforts to introduce recycling and recycled materials and supplies in our office and to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants include the following:
- Introduction of recycled paper
- Promoting the recycling of paper, glass, aluminum, plastic, and other products
- Encouraging double-sided printing
- Replacement of disposable cups with reusable glasses and mugs and replacement of foam cups with an eco-friendly disposable alternative
- Use of paper plates, napkins, and paper towels that are made 90-100% recycled material
- Turning off lights in our offices and conferences rooms when not in use
In recognition of our initiatives, the Chicago Department of Environment awarded HSPRD a Tenant Achievement Award in 2010 as part of the Chicago Green Office Challenge.
We believe that everyone at HSPRD can play a daily role in reducing our impact on the environment, conserving natural resources, and managing our firm in a sustainable manner.
