| Terence Moran joined the firm in December of 1993 after serving for more than four years as Chief of the Labor and Employment Division of the City of Chicago Law Department. During his more than twenty-five years in the practice of law, Mr. Moran has had extensive trial experience, particularly in the areas of civil rights, employment and business litigation. He is a member of the Federal Trial Bar and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. |
| Experience: Mr. Moran has represented and counseled both employers and employees in both the public and private sectors regarding the full range of employment law matters, including discrimination, wage-hour and constitutional law issues. He has an extensive track record of both favorable jury verdicts and pretrial settlements on terms favorable to his clients. Mr. Moran also has had extensive experience representing both employees and employers in negotiating severance payments in exchange for releases of potential legal claims. He also has represented private business entities in commercial and construction litigation matters. Among the many high profile matters Mr. Moran has handled is obtaining a $1.7 million dollar verdict in favor of two former Cicero police officials fired for cooperating with a federal grand jury investigation into governmental corruption, as well as the successful defense of Chicago's first African-American police superintendent accused of engaging in reverse racial discrimination against twelve formerly high-ranking White officers. |
| Honors, Education, and Activities: Mr. Moran graduated cum laude in 1983 from Loyola University of Chicago Law School, where he was a Law Journal Editor and received numerous academic awards, including the John D. McCormick and John C. Hayes Scholarship Awards. He has also been a Legal Writing Instructor, Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy and Senior Lecturer of Law at that law school. Mr. Moran also has participated as "judge" in various NITA and other trial practice programs. He is a member of the American, Federal, Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations. |
