Karyn L. Bass Ehler represents clients in a wide array of complex litigation matters, including the areas of civil rights, class actions, labor and employment, and general commercial litigation. She joined the firm in 2007.
Experience: Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bass Ehler served as a law clerk for the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, from 2006 through 2007. Prior to her clerkship with Judge Kennelly, Ms. Bass Ehler served as a law clerk for the Honorable William J. Bauer, Senior Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, from 2005 through 2006.
Ms. Bass Ehler was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2005.
Honors, Education, and Activities: Ms. Bass Ehler received a J.D., cum laude, from the DePaul University College of Law in 2005, and a B.A., with honors, from Northwestern University in 2000.
While at DePaul College of Law, Ms. Bass Ehler served as the Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Law Review.
Ms. Bass Ehler is an Advisory Board Member of the Center on Public Interest Law at DePaul College of Law. She also serves as a mentor for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Program.
Ms. Bass Ehler writes and lectures on civil rights and constitutional law.
