Christopher Wilmes represents clients in a wide variety of civil matters, with a focus on employment and civil rights cases.
Experience: Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wilmes worked at the Legal Assistance Foundation as a Skadden Public Interest Fellow, representing clients with criminal-record-related legal issues. Prior to his public interest fellowship, Mr. Wilmes completed one-year clerkships with two federal judges, the Honorable Mathew Kennelly of the Northern District of Illinois and the Honorable Joel Flaum of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Wilmes was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2005.
Honors, Education, and Activities: In 2005, Mr. Wilmes received a J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was Note Comment & Development Editor for the Northwestern Law Review. In 2000, he received a B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Wilmes is on the Board of Directors of Amate House, a non-profit organization that allows recent college graduates to complete a year of volunteer service in Chicago-area schools and social service agencies.
