Bernice Jacobs is a partner with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. She is a highly experienced litigator, concentrating her practice in medical malpractice defense. Ms. Jacobs joined the firm in 2001.

She is experienced in defending physicians, hospitals, and other providers of health care in medical negligence lawsuits. She also has experience in insurance defense litigation, plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, health care law, and general litigation. Her liability litigation experience also includes products, non-medical professional, construction, premises, automobile/transportation, environmental, and municipalities.

She has been involved in all aspects of case management and preparation, alternative dispute mediation, structured settlements, and trial work. She has also served as an Arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County Mandatory Arbitration program.

Prior to joining HSPRD, Ms. Jacobs has served as staff counsel for St. Paul Insurance Company defending insureds in medical malpractice, products liability, construction, premises, transportation, insurance coverage, commercial and other litigation.
