Eric Vander Arend is a partner with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. His practice includes construction and condominium litigation, defense of premises liability and professional liability claims, and commercial litigation. He joined the firm in 1996.

His litigation experience arises under federal antitrust law; Illinois tort, contract and warranty law; the Uniform Commercial Code; and the Illinois business corporation, limited liability corporation, and partnership statutes. He developed legal arguments on automobile retail finance law that were adopted by all the divisions of the Illinois Appellate Court. He has extensive experience and success in class action litigation in both state and federal courts under civil RICO, the Federal Truth in Lending and Truth in Leasing Acts, Federal Trade Commission Regulations, Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act and state consumer statutes. He has had numerous trial and arbitration victories.
