HSPRD files class action lawsuit against Nevada onion grower on behalf of Mexican guestworkers alleging unlawful wage payment practices.
Feb. 16, 2011On February 16, 2011, HSPRD filed a class action lawsuit in federal court on behalf of Mexican agricultural workers with H-2A guestworker visas against Peri & Sons Farms, one of the nation’s largest onion producers and employers of H-2A guestworkers. The suit alleges that Peri & Sons withheld wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, state law, and the workers’ H-2A work contracts.
