Hughes, Socol, Piers, Resnick & Dym, Ltd. has significant experience in the area of transportation law, litigating cases on behalf of railroad and maritime companies. We have litigated many cases under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act, which gives injured employees the right to sue the railroad for compensation in federal or state court. We have also litigated many cases involving accidents at railroad/highway grade crossings or collisions on the navigable waters of the United States.
Railroad, maritime and other transportation companies are governed by a unique set of laws and regulations administered by various federal and state agencies. Representation of clients in these areas must have a knowledge of the laws and regulationa and the roles played by the various agencies.
