Jack A. Battaglia is an Associate at Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. He focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, contract disputes, and appellate matters.      

Jack is a seasoned trial attorney who joined HSPRD in 2024 after working at several other civil litigation firms in downtown Chicago. Jack has tried cases in both state and federal courts, and he has extensive experience handling matters at every stage of litigation, from pre-lawsuit discussions through post-judgment activity and appeals. He has successfully resolved numerous matters by way of dispositive motion, arbitration and mediation, negotiating settlement agreements, and securing defendants’ assets to enforce judgments.

Jack started his legal career working as a judicial clerk for Justice Mary L. Mikva and the late Justice Laura C. Liu at the Illinois Appellate Court (First District) and Judge Rodolfo Garcia at the Circuit Court of Cook County. He earned his law degree with honors from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Managing Executive Editor of the school’s administrative law journal. During law school, he also spent time representing underprivileged and vulnerable clients through the Human Trafficking Clinic and the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Project.
